PRODUCT & ACCESSORIES

  The Safety Turtle Set
Consists of: Base Station, AC Adaptor connector, 1 x Turtle Wristband with key, plus Instruction booklet – all in a portable Travel Bag.

The Base Station is plugged into the power supply inside the house using only the AC Adaptor connector that is provided.
Recommended position: on the side of the house facing the pool or water hazard; upstairs if a double-storey home; not near other electronic equipment.

Do not locate the Base Station where it can accidentally be unplugged or power from the outlet switched off. The Base Station will not sound the alarm if not plugged into a live AC outlet. The range of the Base Station is conservatively stated as 60 metres, which is more than adequate for the average-sized residential property.
The Turtle (or sensor) on the Wristband must be the same colour as the “baby” Turtle receptor plug inserted in the Base Station.
When the Turtle Wristband becomes totally or partially submerged in water it instantly activates the alarm in the Base Station.
The loud alarm (110dB) continues to sound until the Turtle is dried off by means of a cloth or paper towel.
The manufacturers recommend that the alarm is not disconnected or switched off while it is sounding – just turn to Test Mode, which is quieter, and dry off until it stops of its own accord.
The Turtle Wristband is adjustable and fits all sizes from a crawling baby to an adult. It is locked into position by means of the hexagonal buckle key that is provided.
Attach the Turtle Wristband securely to your child’s wrist, so that it cannot slip over the hand. Dots on buckle must align exactly. Keep the buckle key out of children’s reach.
There is a sealed, tamper-proof battery inside the Turtle that has a life-span of ± 3 years.
The Turtle Wristband should be allowed to dry out completely between usage – do not store the Wristband in a plastic bag – rather place it on a shelf or hang it on a hook.
Remove the Turtle Wristband while bathing your child or playing with your child in the pool. Don’t forget to put the wristband back on. Never unplug the Base Station.
Test your Safety Turtle regularly with the amber light on (i.e. in Test Mode) by dipping just the end of the Turtle into a glass of water or the pool, so that it will take only a few seconds to dry off.

  Additional Turtle Wristbands
These can be purchased separately, if required, for additional children. Each Additional Wristband is supplied in a clamshell packaging with a spare key.

Several Wristbands can be operated from one Base Station, as long as they are all the same colour i.e. the same radio frequency.
Recommended position: on the side of the house facing the pool or water hazard; upstairs if a double-storey home; not near other electronic equipment.

In South Africa we have two Turtle colour options available at present: Green or Blue.
The sealed tamper-proof battery inside the Turtle has a life span of ± three (3) years.

The Safety Turtle Battery Pack:
Turtle Power is a re-chargeable battery pack that supplies power to the Safety Turtle Base Station at locations where AC power is not available or is intermittent.

As a result parents can rely on Safety Turtle as their last line of defence anywhere and at any time their child (or pet) is exposed to a water hazard e.g. at a campsite, picnic spot, while boating or at a holiday cottage, resort, hotel, lodge, where there might not be power near the pool.

The initial charging period of a new Power Pack is 10 – 11 hours. The battery operates on full charge for 9 hours. Thereafter the topping up time is much quicker.
The Battery can power the Base Station while it is being charged.
The Battery can be charged using the AC Adaptor connector that comes with the Base Station or the accessory cigarette lighter adaptor.
LEDs indicate charging and ready.
The Battery Pack fits into the portable travel bag with the Base Station. The long adjustable strap can be used to elevate the Base Station for best coverage e.g. hang on a tree branch etc.

Cigarette Lighter Charger:
Useful if there is no access to a power supply to “top-up” the Safety Turtle Power Pack.

The Safety Turtle Wireless Gate Alarm with Bypass Switch

Two Layers of Protection in One System

The Safety Turtle wireless gate alarm enhances the security of a safety fence.
A gate alarm reinforces the weakest link of a pool or property fence – namely the gate latch, which is subject to material deterioration and occupant & visitor interaction.

Alarming occurs if a child succeeds in unlatching the gate, if the gate fails to re-latch after adult entry or if a child wearing a Turtle wristband goes into the water.

The standard wireless gate alarm only comes in Blue and consists of one or more gate alarm sensors and works in conjunction with the Safety Turtle Base Station, which is connected to the power supply inside the house. Therefore several Blue Turtle Wristbands and a wireless Gate Alarm can share the same Base Station.

The gate alarm can be installed by the home-owner on any wood or metal gate.

Features

It is wireless, which allows you to decide where alarming occurs within 75 metres of the gate. Other systems alarm only at the gate, where you may not hear it.
The adult bypass switch on top of the unit means that the Safety Turtle gate sensor never has to be disarmed. It provides an 11 second entry time so the alarm sounds on child entry, but not on adult entry.
Entry time can be extended by holding or repeatedly depressing the switch within 11 seconds.
LED on sensor illuminates during bypass period. It also confirms battery is functioning.
Alarm qualified to operate in weather year round.
The alarm volume of 110 decibels can be reduced temporarily for testing.
Replaceable battery (included) lasts 30,000 entries.
Simple sensor low battery test

Also excellent for resorts, lodges, guest houses, care-centres where there is an unsupervised fenced pool. Monitoring is essential as gates can fail to self-engage and are left open by less responsible pool users.
